In November of 1997, immediately after the original painting was purchased, I personally digitized this transparency on a high-end Crosfield drum scanner at Alston Digital Imaging (Fleming Printing) where I was working at the time as a design/production/pre-press artist and scanner operator. Once in digital form, the image was then meticulously cleaned up in Photoshop (Macintosh) in manageable tiled sections before the creation of color separations from the digital file. Because of it's large physical size, The Megalite Project's film separations for printing had to be created in Vancouver, and then returned to Fleming where it was printed as close to original size as possible on their largest color press.
The resulting "limited edition quality" reproduction was printed on a premium line of heavy, acid-free stock, and is highly resistant to fading or yellowing.
Each print is hand-signed and titled in graphite, then carefully rolled up with a protective sheet of constraining paper before being packaged. Standard mailing tubes are used for shipping, and have been 100% successful in protecting all prints from damage thus far.
Also included with each print is a computer generated chart & fictional timeline, which compares the profiles of many "Megalite Project" structures to a number of real buildings that exist today. Under the chart is "The Megalite Story."
