I created the illustration called “Acro City” which I completed in 1982. (100 limited edition reproductions - Sold out) It is a fictional painting depicting a great bristling city somewhere near Portland Oregon with an incredibly tall building “in your face”, dwarfing the rest of the structures around it - just as the I.D.S. building had done in the late 70’s. The difference is, the monster building in Acro City - the International Science & Research Center (I.S.R.) - is 240 storeys tall!

The 100 limited edition reproductions made of Acro City met with such positive response that in 1984 I decided to follow it up with another, even more elaborate painting - in color - and at twice the size (It took up an entire illustration board).

Although I have spent my entire career designing and illustrating commercially, there are only two paintings which I have ever printed and sold privately; “Acro City” and “The Megalite Project” are both paintings which came from the heart and which I hope will spark something inside of those who see it. “Acro City” was created in graphite and rapidograph, while "The Megalite Project" was strictly a watercolor piece.

The two originals were displayed together at the renowned Sooke Regional Art Show in 1991 where they were enthusiastically received and won honorable mention. After that, “The Megalite Project” hung in various locations, not for sale, until in 1997, when a woman by the name of Rosanna McNulty saw it hanging at Laser’s Edge service bureau in Victoria and she decided she just 'had to have it'.

After a great deal of consideration and negotiation the sale of the painting took place in September of 1997. Because of her continued unlimited enthusiasm and support of my work I decided to name the west side of this imaginary city after her, - thus it was christened Santa Rosanna. We continue a warm friendship to this day.

In 1997 I commissioned Fleming Printing in Victoria B.C. to create limited edition quality prints of the image so I can accommodate anyone wishing to purchase a premium reproduction of it. I personally pre-pressed the digital file and press-proofed the printing.
